Jonathon Thomas "JT" Coggin, age 13, of 1026 Tom Rice Road, Canon, GA, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Egleston Children's Hospital, Atlanta, GA.
Born January 17, 1996 in Athens, GA, he was the son of Tim Coggin and Tammy Blackwell LeCroy and Stepson of Danny A. LeCroy.He was a 7th grade student at Hart County Middle School; Member of 2008 – 2009 HCMS Football Team; The Outdoor Club; Honor Student; FCA and played the trumpet in the band during his 6th grade year .
He is survived by:Parents; Brother, Christopher Coggin; Sisters, Krista LeCroy and Katie Coggin all of Hartwell, GA; Paternal grandparents, C.O. "Bucky" and Kathleene "Kitty" Coggin of Hartwell, GA; and Maternal grandmother, Linda Blackwell Collins of Hiawassee, GA; Special Aunts and Uncles, Bobby and Pam Fleming and Sue and Jerry Cole.He is preceded in death by his grandfather, J.C. Blackwell.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church.Rev. Jerry Durham and Rev. Anthony Davis will officiate.Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Friday night from 6 – 9:00 p.m.The family is at the home of Bobby and Pam Fleming, 999 Bert Moorhead Road, Canon, GA.Flowers are optional; Memorials may be made to Jonathon Coggin Memorial Scholarship Fund, 999 Bert Moorhead Road, Canon, GA30520
