Mrs. Jonell (Jo) Andrews Cawthon, age 83, of Lavonia, died Thursday, September 4, 2008 at her home.
Born September 13, 1924, in Carnesville, she was the daughter of the late Grover B. Andrews & Pearl (Sanders) Andrews Atkinson. She was a business woman.Jo and her husband M.C. were in the grocery and auto parts business for many years.Mrs. Cawthon was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a charter member of Lavonia Pilot Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: M.C. Cawthon; brother: Julian Andrews.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Sandra and Doug King of Lavonia; A grand-daughter and her husband Beth and Doug Kidd;A grand-son David King all of Lavonia;Brothers and Sisters- in –Law;Herschel and Wanda Andrews of Williamson and Frank and Jeannette Andrews of Carnesville;Sister and Brother-in-Law;Helen and Bill Kesler of Albemarle, NC;Sister:Kathy Andrews of Milledgeville;In-laws James and Shelby Cawthon, Fred and Sue Cawthon, Harold and Mildred Williams, also survive. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Revs. Kenneth Jones and John Forbes officiating. Burial will follow in the Franklin Memorial Gardens - North.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.The family will be at the home of Doug and Sandra King 602 Kings Rd, Lavonia.
