Mrs. Jonell Stewart Worrell, age 95, of 163 Nancy Heights, Hartwell, GA, died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born August 17, 1914 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Aubry Stewart and Myrl Cole Stewart. She was a graduate of Western Kentucky State Teachers College and was the first Talisman Queen of 1936.She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and volunteering.She was a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church, Atlanta, GA; Former member of Northside Hospital Auxiliary service for over 30 years; former member and officer of the DAR, former member and officer of PEO, former member of Riverside Garden Club and Sandy Springs Bridge Clubs.
Survivors include:Son, Stephen Worrell and his wife Martha of Hartwell, GA; Grandchildren, Mindy W. Spiller, Dr. Stewart Worrell, and Robert Worrell; Great grandchildren, Witt Spiller, Beckham Spiller and Forrst and Rob Worrell; Daughter in law, Carolyn Worrell of Lexington, VA; Sister in law, Barbara Stewart of Bowling Green, KY and several nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, DeWitt Worrell; Son, DeWitt Worrell and Brother, Charles Stewart.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Rev.
