Joseph Burke Davis, age 76, of Lavonia, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at his home.

Born July 7, 1948, in Ypsilanti, MI, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Peggy Davis. He served in the Michigan National Guard and received his BA of Psychology Degree from the University of Michigan. Mr. Davis spent his career as Insurance Underwriter for several companies, the majority of it with Fireman's Fund and ending with Britt Paulk Insurance Agency. He was a member of Lavonia First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Cecelia Branch Davis; daughters & sons-in-law: Beth & James Plunkett, Jennifer & Nick Barton and Tasha & Greg King; grandchildren: Eli & Hannah Plunkett, Ladon & Arya Barton, Amelia, AJ, Tyler & Brianna King; great granddaughter: Cora Hopkins; siblings: Maggie Scheuer (Joe), Dee Dee Davis, Amy Spicer; sister-in-law: Lucinda Davis; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Lynn Marie Davis and his brother: Andy Davis

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ben Wilcox officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made in memory to Lavonia First United Methodist Church P.O.
