Obituary

Mrs. Josiane Louise Ford DuVernois, 80, of Hartwell, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at her home.

Born on December 25, 1940 in Brussels, Belgium, she was the daughter of the late Marcel De Leeuw and the late Cecile Nuyt Ford. Mrs. DuVernois graduated from Agawam High School in Agawam, MA, in 1958, then worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst for Berkshire Life Insurance Co. in Pittsfield, MA. She moved to Hartwell in 1988, and she was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church.

Josiane enjoyed camping across the United States, with a special love for the beaches, and took advantage of time available after her husband's early retirement in 1988.

Survivors include her husband: Robert E. DuVernois of the home; son: Michael DuVernois of Madison, WI; two grandchildren: Sylvia and Mara DuVernois; and cousins in Belgium.

A Memorial Service celebrating Josiane's life will be held Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Dr. R. Allen Stewart officiating. A reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Howell Street, Hartwell, GA 30643.
