Mrs. Joy Dean Thrasher Bailey, 82, of Will Bailey Road, Hartwell, died Thursday, October 30, 2014 at her home.

Born on May 11, 1932 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie H. Thrasher and L.E. Rowland Thrasher.She was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment and a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son: Keith Bailey of Lavonia; a daughter: Ann Bailey Ashworth and her husband Donnie of Royston; two sisters: Agnes Thrasher Pilgrim of Royston and Brenda Thrasher of Valdosta GA; four grandchildren: Amanda Jordan and her husband Chuck, Kelly Lewis, William Ashworth, and Elizabeth Ashworth; seven great grandchildren: Wesley Evans, Jonathan Evans, Summer Jordan, Brittany Haler, Karra Jordan, Caleb Haler and Joshua Lewis.Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Sam J. Bailey Jr; three brothers: Alfred Thrasher, Carey Thrasher and Gerald Thrasher and three sisters: Gladys Kirkland, Barbara Nelson and Peggy Rousey.

Funeral services will be Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Terry James, Rev. Doug Kennedy and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
