Mrs. Joyce Adams Bowers, 74, of Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, died Thursday, October 2, 2014 at her home.

Born on May 25, 1940 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late James Thermon Adams and Eva Mae Moore Adams.She was a former employee of the Hart County School System, retired salesperson & secretary for Bowers Flooring Company and a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband: George W. Bowers; two daughters: Sharon Morris & Ricky and Julie Brown & Mark all of Hartwell; a son: Terry Bowers & Rita of Hartwell; a brother: Kenneth Adams of Dewy Rose; five grandchildren: Galen & Ross Morris, Karlie & Mason Bowers and Dalton Brown; two great-grandchildren: Marlee Bowers and Paisley Wilson.Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Donald Adams and Rogel Adams.

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Mize and Mr. Dale Peek officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday night.The family is at the home.
