Miss Joyce Montine Hampton, 82, of Melody Lane, Hartwell, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living Center, Hartwell.

Born on April 29, 1933 in Atlanta GA, she was the daughter of the late George Hampton and Montine Bagwell Hampton.Miss Hampton was a retired Accountant for the Georgia Department of Corrections and Parole and worked as a ticket sales person for the Atlanta Braves and the Omni.Miss Hampton was also a member of the Church of the Nazarene and attended the First Baptist Church of Hartwell.

Survivors include her sister: Charlotte Beals and her husband Paul of Huntsville AL; four nephews: John R. "Rick" Hampton and his wife and Joyce's caregiver, Donna of Hartwell, Dale Beals and his wife Sue of Nashville TN, David Beals and his wife Carla of Huntsville AL and Mike Beals and his wife Kathy of Duluth GA; three nieces: Pat Hampton of Friendswood TX, Brenda Hampton and Tim Bui of Toluca Lake CA and Lynn Hampton of Atlanta.Miss Hampton was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Carl Hampton Sr, Sydney Hampton, Andrew Hampton and John Hampton and a sister: Willadene Hampton.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Carter Tucker and Rev. Paul Beals officiating.Burial will be in the Bio Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon.The family is at their respective homes.
