Mr. Joseph Palmer "J.P." Walls, 77, of Cade Street, Hartwell, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016 at his home.

Born on October 20, 1938 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late James Marvin Walls and Lucy Gilliam Walls.Mr. Walls was a retired machine operator and SPO with BASF and attended Providence United Methodist Church. He also was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Walls was an avid golf player and a Clemson fan.

Survivors include his wife: Sue Walters Walls; four daughters: Susan Harris and her husband Mike of Amarillo, TX, Tina O'Tuel and her husband Mark of Hartwell, Tammy Strickland and her husband Arnold of Hartwell, Gina Grant and her husband Tommy of Williamson, SC; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother: Tommy Walls and Debbie of Anderson; four sisters: Lorene Bolt of Belton, Sue Bates of Anderson, Mary Richey and Jimmy of Belton, Gwen Walters and Mike of Anderson and a sister-in-law: Carol Walls of Anderson. Mr. Walls was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Jack Walls.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 8, 2016, 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Doug Brown and Mr. Tommy Walls officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.The family is at the home.
