Mrs. Juanita Nix Lane, 74, of Ridge Road, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born on October 30, 1942 in Comer, GA, she was the daughter of the late James Freddy Nix and Eunice "Inez" Spearman Nix.Mrs. Lane was formerly employed by the IRS and a homemaker.She was also a member of the Milltown Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband: Johnny E. Lane; one daughter: Jennifer Sheriff and her husband Brett of Hartwell; one son: Mike Wheeler and his wife Lynn of Myrtle Beach, SC;three grandchildren: Jonathan Isom, Gabriel Sheriff, Pamela Colvard; three great-grandchildren: Kaylianna Isom, Owen Colvard and Olivia Colvard also survive.Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with the Rev. Ray Black officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.The family is at the home of Brett and Jennifer Sheriff, 25 Clearview Road, Hartwell, GA.
