Mrs. Judy Elaine Whitten Carnes, 63, of Hart Terrace, Hartwell, died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at her home.

Born on September 15, 1951 in Anderson SC, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Whitten and Nora Smith Nelson.She was retired from Hartwell Health & Rehab and was a member of the Oak Bower Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband: Johnny Carnes; two sons: Tim Carnes of Hartwell and John Carnes of Athens; two daughters: Wendy Massey and Kala Carnes both of Hartwell; two brothers: Tony Nelson of Anderson SC and Donnie Ray Whitten of Oklahoma; three sisters: Michelle Nelson of Greenville SC, Kathy Morgan of Belton SC and Allison Nelson of Florida; five grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Tommy Cleveland officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening. The family is at the home.
