Mrs. Julia Mae McLane Bowers, 95, of Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital, Lavonia, GA.

Born on June 30, 1922 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Hugh McLane and Estelle Motes McLane.Mrs. Bowers was retired from Southern Umbrella and was a clerk for Sky City. She also was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and the Coven Bailey Sunday School Class.

Survivors include one daughter: Elaine Bowers Sims and her husband Mike of Hartwell.Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by her husband: Troy Bowers; one son: Ronnie Bowers; and one brother: Doyle McLane.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Webb and Rev. Kaleb Bond officiating.Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 Friday prior to the service in the church sanctuary. The family is at the home.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 2973 Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, GA 30643.
