Mr. Junior Winston Reed, age 84, of 2179 Gumlog Road, Martin, GA, died Monday, August 30, 2010 at his home.

Born May 26, 1926 in Hart County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Dawson Shirley Reed and Florence Marett Reed.He was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Co.He was of the Church of God Faith and a veteran of U.S. Army 101 Airborne.

He is survived by: wife:Laverne Suttles Reed of the home; Son, Larry W. Reed of Gainesville, GA; Daughter, Linda R. Jordan and her husband Denny of Eastanollee, GA; Granddaughter reared in the home, Brandy R. Davis and her husband Allen of Martin, GA; Sisters, Joyce Suttles of Bowman, GA, Claudine Marrett of Hartwell, GA; One grandchild; Three great grandchildren, Lindsay Roberts, Chance Roberts and Johnathan West; two step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren also survive.He is preceded in death by his Parents; Brother, Guy Reid and Two sisters, Lera Byrum and Mertis Lee.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Rev. Johnny Stowe will officiate.Burial will be in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 – 8 p.m.The family is at the home.In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to defray funeral expenses.
