Karen Marie Allgood, age 57, of Gainesville, formerly of Lavonia, died Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Born in Carrollton, she was the daughter of the late Hugh A. and Edna Christine (Lambert) Allgood. She was a registered nurse with Laurelwood of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She was a member of the Lavonia United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her companion: Mike Kesler of Lavonia; sisters: Susan Gorman of Lavonia and Brenda Cleveland of Bowersville; nieces: Valarie Reeves and Heather Rickman; and nephews: Rev. Phillip Maxwell and Rodney Cleveland. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Wanda Bailey.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the service. At other times the family will be at the home of Susan Gorman.
