Mrs. Karen Cann Posey, 37, of 393 McCurry Rd, Hartwell, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville TN.

Born on March 6, 1972 in Hart Co. GA, she was the daughter of Lewis Cann Sr. of Hartwell and the late Barbara Miller Richardson.She was a GA/SC Realtor. She was a Realtor for Re/Max - Anchor All Realty of Hartwell for 4 years and the Marketing Director for Lake Pointe Assisted Living of Hartwell. She was a member of Re/Max International, GA MLS, National Association of Realtors and GA Association of Realtors. She attended Rock Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include: father; husband, Harold E. Posey of Hartwell; step-mother, Angie Cann of Hartwell; step-father, Ronnie Richardson of Hartwell; step-son, Cory Posey and his wife Kim of Hartwell; brother, Lewis Cann Jr. of Lone Star, Texas; sister, Rebecca Cann of Hartwell; step-brother, Adam Finney of Hartwell; step-sister, Stephanie Finney of Ohio and paternal grandparents, Earl and Bernice Cann of Iva, SC also survive.She was preceded in death by her mother; maternal grandparents, Alton & Maggie Miller and a brother, Jeffery Mark Cann.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Rev. Ken Wright and Mr. Brad Brown will officiate. Mrs. Posey wished to be cremated after her service.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday night.The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to the Hart Co. Humane Society, PO Box 1062, Hartwell, GA30643.
