Miss Karson Taylor Simpson, 16, of 483 Old Reed Creek Road, Hartwell, died Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Hart County Hospital.
Born on January 10, 1995 in Anderson, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Sheryl Powell Simpson and the late Dwain "Footsie" Simpson.She was a student at Hart County High School and enjoyed performing arts.
Survivors include her mother: Sheryl Simpson of the home; paternal grandmother: Mattie Simpson of Iva, SC; maternal grandparents: William M. Powell and Margie Powell of Lowndesville, SC; and two sisters: Brittany Simpson of Iva, SC, and Madalyn Simpson of Hartwell.Miss Simpson was preceded in death by her father: Dwain Simpson; and paternal grandfather: Seigler Simpson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Iva First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Gray officiating.Burial will follow in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Iva, SC.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday night.The family is at the home of Mattie Simpson, 8610 Hwy 187 South, Iva, SC.
