Kasandra Marlene "Kassy" Paris , 74, of Liberty City, TX passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Brown Health and Rehab, Royston GA.
Born on April 6, 1951 in Dallas TX, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Christopher Paris and Dorothy Louise Black Paris. She was trained as an educator and had a degree in journalism. Her father was the editor of the Longview Morning Journal for many years. Miss Paris was a retired elementary school teacher, working for the Marshall Independent School District in Marshall TX most of her career.
She was a member of the McCary's Chapel Methodist Church in Liberty City, TX, East Texas Writers Association. Kassy was loved by all who met her and cherished by friends and family for her wit, kindness and humor. She liked to stay busy and had many hobbies including quilting, painting, and drawing. She also enjoyed telling stories and traveling. She was a published author with a focus on Christian romance.
Survivors include her sister Karolyn P. Garcia (Armando) of Martin GA; brother-in-law Ahmad Haj of Israel; a goddaughter, Dana Joiner of Liberty City TX; two nephews: Sam Haj (Sam) of Israel and Jeremy Cain (Tasha) of Liberty City TX; two nieces: Susanne Thurber (Bill) of Martin GA and Madison Hughes (Justin) of Overton TX. Kassy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Krissy Paris, Katrina Willis; and a niece: Summer Haj.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Kasandra Paris will be held on April 4 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the McCary's Chapel UMC in Liberty City TX.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
