Mrs. Katherine Virginia Rodgers Hilliard, 88, of 547 College Ave, Bowersville, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson, SC.

Born on June 22, 1929 in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Paul J. Rodgers and Lounett Martin Rodgers.Mrs. Hilliard was retired from the Hartwell Company, where she was a supervisor.She also was a member of the Bowersville Baptist Church, church choir, and Dorsus Sunday School Class.

Survivors include one daughter: Judy Burdette and her husband Larry; one son: Bill Hilliard all of Bowersville; one brother: Paul Rodgers, Jr. of Deweyville, UT; two sisters: Dorothy Garrett of Blue Ridge, GA, Barbara Rodgers of Tremonton, UT; six grandchildren: Carol Bartl, Julie Oliver, Joanna Brafford, Courtney Hilliard, Hunter Hilliard, Brittany Hillard; thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Hilliard was preceded in death by her husband: Horace C. Hilliard; two brothers: David Rodgers and Harold Rodgers.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Bowersville Baptist Church with Rev.Connie Ivester and Rev. Justin Cason officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.The family is at the home. Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Bowersville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 26, Bowersville, GA 30516.
