Mrs. Doris Kathryn Gaines White, 88, of Hartwell, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024 at the Doctors Hospital of Augusta.

Born on October 19, 1936 in Elberton, GA, she was the daughter of the late T. Julian Gaines and Gladys Ayers Gaines. Mrs. White was formerly employed at the Hartwell Garment Company, and was a lunchroom worker for both Nancy Hart Elementary and South Hart Elementary before retiring from South Hart. She was a member of the Coldwater Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter: Debra Adams of Hartwell; brother: Wade A. Gaines (Brenda) of Hartwell; sister: Helen G. Chapman of Starr, SC; three grandchildren: Richard Adams (Nobi) of Clarkesville GA, Robin Saylors (Jason) and Jeremy Tallent all of Hartwell; nine great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild also survives.

Mrs. White is preceded in death by her parents; husband: William M. "Billy" White; one daughter: Diane Tallent; one granddaughter: Diana Tallent; and one great-granddaughter: Lauren Saylors.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kathryn White will be Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Tim Gaines officiating.  Burial will be in the Memorial Garden of Prayer.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
