Katrenia Pickens Saylors

Mrs. Katrenia Pickens Saylors, 91, of Bowersville, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 25, 2026 at her home.

Born on June 20, 1935, in Lavonia, GA, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Pickens and Willie Owens Pickens. Mrs. Katrenia was a retired from the Hartwell Garment Company as a seamstress, and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. Katrenia loved reading her Bible, working in her yard, and tending her flowers.

Survivors include her daughter: Gail Leopard (Roger); her son: Jerry Saylors Jr. (Yvonne) all of Bowersville; one brother: Buddy Pickens of Iva, SC; eight grandchildren: Angela Scoggins (Shane), Jenny Turner (Shane), Jason Saylors (Robin), Elizabeth Campbell (Jeff), Julie Saylors, Justin Saylors (Tonya), Pamela Peace (Brandon) Jamie Saylors (Nicole); eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one more on the way.

Mrs. Saylors was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Jerry Saylors Sr; one brother: Melton Pickens; three sisters: Geneva Floyd, Barbara Woods, and Gatha Bridges; and one great-grandchild: Lauren Saylors.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Katrenia Saylors will be held Sunday, June 28, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Adam Veal, Dr. Dan Bailey, and Rev. Andy Huff officiating. Burial will be in the Bowersville City Cemetery.

The following men will serve as Pallbearers: Jason Saylors, Justin Saylors, Jamie Saylors, Ethan Saylors, Shane Turner, Shane Scoggins, Jeff Campbell, Brandon Peace and the following men will serve as Honorary Pallbearers: Alex Higgins, Balin Jones, Bryson Campbell, Carson Saylors, Easton Saylors, Hudson Saylors, and Adam Saylors.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the Bible Baptist Church, 77 Bible Baptist Church Road, Royston, GA 30662.
