Mr. Kenneth H. South, age 84, of Martin, died Thursday, February 27, 2013 at his home.
Born November 26, 1928, in Hamburg, NJ, he was the son of the late Weimer and Laura South. He retired from Southeast Drive as a manager.Mr. South was a veteran of the US Army.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (Carter) South of the home; daughters: Renee Grindle and Tammy Murrow Marsh; sons: Robin South, Thomas and Mark Murrow grandchildren: Josh South, Dennis Grindle, Jed South, Danelle Green, Chris Grindle, Candace Crooks, Eric Grindle, Shanda Kerchner, Amanda Murrow, Andrea Cason, April Seely, Blayne Marsh and Bradley Marsh and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Weimer Jr., Richard and Rd South.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Harvill and Rev. Mike Petty officiating, the body will be placed in the church at 1:30 pm.Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home.
