Kenneth Douglas Doker, 89, of Lavonia, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024 at his son's home.

Born on September 27, 1934 in Canon, GA, he was the son of the late Claude and Mary Nell (Bray) Doker.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Linda Davis Doker; his son Bryan (Carrie) Doker of Sugar Hill; three grandchildren, Camden, Cabe, and Karis Doker; two sisters Bonita Phillips and Charlotte Blackwell, and several nieces and nephews. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, Jean Middleton and Mary Daniel; and mother-in-law, Bonnie Ruth Davis.

After graduating from Hartwell High School in 1951, Kenneth worked at Newton Mills and Hartwell Garment. In 1957, he was drafted into the United States Army and spent 2 years in Germany. After returning home, Kenneth resumed his position at Hartwell Garment; working for over 50 years in the cutting room and shipping department. After retirement, he bagged groceries part-time at Dill's Food City in Lavonia for about 10 years. Kenneth enjoyed attending Hart County football games and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a humble man with an easy-going spirit. Known to be a jokester, he loved to make people smile and laugh. Kenneth enjoyed attending Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church where his family was one of the founders. He sung in the choir, ushered, and was a Eucharistic minister.

The family will receive friends at Strickland Funeral Home in Lavonia from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, April 22, 2024. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 23 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Hartwell with Father Rafael Castano officiating. Prior to the service, the Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM in the church. During other times the family will be at the home of Bryan Doker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul at 1009 Benson Street Hartwell, GA 30643.
