Kenneth Dean Hendrix, 66, of Lavonia, died Monday, April 10, 2017 at his home.
Born August 15, 1950, in Franklin County, he was the son of Elton "Sis" (Cromer) Hendrix and the late Albert Hendrix. He was a veteran of the US Army. He worked in education, having served as assistant principal and teacher at Franklin County High School, principal of Franklin County Middle School, and Assistant Superintendent of Franklin County Schools. He also served as Administrative Pastor of Gateway Believers Fellowship. He attended Royston Church of God.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: Marie (Roberts) Hendrix of the home; son and daughter-in-law: Ken and Cynthia Hendrix of Lavonia; granddaughters: Jossalynn and Avenleigh Hendrix of Lavonia; sister: Brenda Swafford of Eastanollee; and brother: Barron Hendrix of the Eagle Grove Community.
The funeral service with military honors will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Royston Church of God with Rev. Eddie Wiggins, Rev. Mitch Elder, and Rev. Bill Avant officiating. A private burial will follow the service in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kenneth's memory to the Royston Church of God Youth Fund or the Gateway Believers Fellowship Youth Fund.
