Mr. Charles Kenneth "Big Law" Farmer, 67, of Hartwell, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, GA.
Born on February 23, 1956 in Seneca, SC, he was the son of the late Charles Tennis Farmer and Geneva Walters Farmer Crisp. Mr. Farmer began his career in Law Enforcement with the Lavonia PD. He then went to work for the Franklin County Sherriff's Office, then the Hart County Sherriff's Office, and finally retired from the Royston PD. After retiring he decided to go back to work for the Hartwell PD & the Franklin Springs PD. He also worked for O'Reilly Auto Parts in Hartwell. He was also POST certified, completed EMT School, and completed his CDL Certifications. Kenneth was a member of the Providence United Methodist Church and attended Hartwell Church of God. Kenneth loved to shoot guns and was a car enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife: Peggy Lorene Brooks Farmer of Hartwell; son: Charles Justin Farmer of Hartwell; daughter: Katie Nicole Farmer of Hartwell; brother: Dale Farmer (Daphne) of Canon; sister: Lavonda Byrum (Jerry) of Hartwell; three nieces: Candy B. Oglesby (Heath), Kayla-Dale Roberts Moore (Gregg), and Kaylie Farmer-Smith (Russell); three great-nephews: Tyler Ballard, Brady Moore, and Bryson Smith; and three great-nieces: Mackenzie Oglesby, Jaycee Moore, and Elaina Kate Smith. Mr. Farmer is preceded in death by his step-father: George Crisp.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.
Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Farmer will be held Monday, October 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Revs. Lonnie Bennett and Bruce Moore officiating. Burial with Law Enforcement Honors will be in the Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the Hart County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1062, Hartwell, GA 30643, or the Hart County Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 45, Hartwell, GA 30643.
