Mr. Kenneth Gordon Mainland, age 81, formerly of Lavonia, died Thursday, February 22, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born November 11, 1926, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Gordon Victor & Carolyn Alyea Mainland. He was retired as a seasonings broker, working most of his life in the food service industry. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy. Mr. Mainland was a member of the Lavonia Presbyterian Church.
He was predeceased by his parents and his first wife: Helen R. Mainland.
Survivors include wife: Bonnie (George) Mainland; daughter: Annette M. Wood of Jonesboro; sons: Bernard K. & Linda Mainland of Jonesboro and Lawrence M. & Rhonda Mainland of Duluth; step-sons: Gary W. & Vada Lee of Columbia, SC, Michael D. & Linda Lee of Belton, SC, and Kenneth D. & Myrna Lee of Anderson; sister: Ruth & Donald Bretz of Summerville, FL; 10 Grandchildren; and 19 Great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lavonia Presbyterian Church.
