Obituary
Mr. Kenneth Linder McCurley, age 72 of 1411 Mt. Hebron Rd. Hartwell, GA, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born December 1, 1935 in Hart County, he was the son of the late Edgar Benton McCurley and Nellie Adams McCurley. He was a retired painter in the construction industry and a member of the Mount Hebron Baptist Church and attended Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
He is survived by: sisters, Modena Fleming of Hartwell, Ga., and Connie Burns of Hartwell, Ga. a number of nieces and nephews also survive.He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Hugh, Edgar Jr., Swain, Hoyt, and William McCurley; and sisters: Sara McCurley, and Louise Richardson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Rev. Jerry Durham will officiate. Burial will be at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 Thursday evening. The family will be the home of Jimmy and Connie Burns 185 George Burns Lane, Hartwell, GA.
