Mr. G. Kenneth Skelton, age 77, of 1365 Ridge Road, Hartwell, GA, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at his home.
Born November 20, 1932 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Harold Skelton and Sara Bond Skelton.He was retired from Michelin Tire Corporation; Member of Sardis Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran.
He is survived by:Wife, Jo Anne Kay Skelton of the home; Son, Steven Skelton and his wife Heather of Bowersville, GA; Daughter, Melanie Almond and her husband Chuck of Dewy Rose, GA; Brothers, Randall Skelton of Hartwell, GA and Jimmy Skelton of S.C.; Sister, Sonja Mettee of Largo, FL; Three grandchildren, Madelyn Almond, Sidney Skelton and Blake Skelton also survive.He is preceded in death by his Parents and a Sister, Shirley Mercer.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.Rev. Carter Tucker and Rev. John Silver will officiate.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. prior to the graveside service.The family is at the home.In lieu of flowers; Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
