Mr. Melvin Kenneth Temples, 72, of Sunset Drive, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 at his home.

Born on November 13, 1950 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late James Walter "Bud" Temples and Ione Broome Temples. Mr. Temples was a self-employed painter and was the owner/operator of Kenneth Temples Painting. He was also a member of the Milltown Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Sylvene Jordan Temples of the home; three daughters: Donna Bridges (Tommy) of Bowman, Vicki Vickery (Tim) of Hartwell, and Kimberly Dutton (Justin) of Hartwell; five sisters: Dorthy Wicker (Harold) of Hartwell, Jan Miller of Hartwell, Linda Judy (Donnie) of Greenwood, SC, Ruth Dickerson of Hartwell, and Gladys Bond of Hartwell; seven grandchildren: Ashley Bridges, Randy Bridges, Matthew Woodall, Marley Dutton, Dalilah Dutton, Walker Dutton, Zoey Dutton; and two great grandchildren: Tucker Hammock and Ellery Grace Woodall. Mr. Temples was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Don, Robert, James, Roy, and Ray Temples; and two sisters: Lou Jones and Martha Goldsmith.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at the home of Tim & Vicki Vickery, 109 Reno Drive, Hartwell, GA.

A funeral service celebrating Mr. Kenneth Temples' life will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Brewer and Mr. Thomas Jordan officiating. It was Mr. Temples wishes to be cremated following the service.
