Kenneth Bruce "Kenny" Carter, age 60, of Toccoa, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024, at his home.

He was born May 26, 1964, in Waukegan, IL, the son of the late Milford and Sara Frances Lewis Carter. He worked for Noah Watkins Trucking Company and was of the Church of God faith. Kenny was an avid fisherman and enjoyed cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs during football season. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his fiancé: Sylvia Murphy; sisters: Shirley Ann Dove and Karen Carter; special niece: Christina Cox; special friends: Robbie Shirley, Robert (Wendy) Murphy II, Walker (Karabeth) Murphy, Chris (Michelle) Carter, Shane (Destiny) Carter, and Stormy (Trevor) O'Brien. He is also survived by his canine companion: Little Bit; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Bobby Carter, Sr. and Rev. Roy Carter; and sisters: Maggie Carter, Betty Brooks, and Hilda Thomason.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024, at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wayne Thomason, Rev. Timothy Carter, and Rev. Jeremy Garmon officiating. Burial will follow at Bowers Memorial Park in Canon. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Jessie Brown, Johnny Brown, Michael Brown, Chris Carter, Shane Carter, Robert Murphy II, Walker Murphy, and Trevor O'Brien. Honorary escort will be Candace Brown, Nyleigh Brown, Karson Brown, Zach Brown, Gabby Lawrence, and Stormy O'Brien.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to defray funeral expenses.
