Mr. Kent D. Hix, 90, of Lavonia Hwy, Bowersville, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.

Born on November 25, 1927 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Milton Hix and Mamie Madden Hix.Mr. Hix was a retired machine technician for Newton Mills and a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church. He also was a US Army veteran.

Survivors include one son: Mark Hix and his wife Joy of Bowersville; two brothers: Dean Hix of Marietta, GA, Leon Hix of Lawrenceville, GA; one sister: Nell Parker of Lebanon, OH; two grandchildren: Blake Hix and Brandon Hix also survive.Mr. Hix was preceded in death by his wife: Virginia Cromer Hix; two brothers: Phil Hix and Lemuel Hix; two sisters: Ann Brown and Bobbie Nichols.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Mr. Ricky Hix officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.The family is at the home.
