Ms. Kristal Dawn Rowland, 47, of Hartwell, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at her home.

Born on February 12, 1976 in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of Willie J. Rowland and Claudia Vaughn Rowland. Miss Rowland was a graduate of Hart County High School Class of 1994.  She was attended Brenau University in Gainesville GA. She was a secretary at Clemson University and currently attended Anderson University. She attended Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hartwell and Judah Church in Anderson, SC. Kristal was a veteran of the US Navy. She loved being at the lake & beach, and a big Georgia Bulldogs Fan. Above all else, she was a devoted follower of Christ. There is no doubt that she is now with our Savior, dancing in the streets of Heaven.

Survivors include her father: Willie Rowland of Hartwell; her mother: Claudia Rowland of Hartwell; two brothers: Jimmy Bryant & Gwen of Royston, and Brian Rowland of Hartwell; one sister: Donna Bennett of Royston; three nephews: Kevin Bryant, Josh Bryant, and Evan Bennett; and five nieces: Anna Rowland Dickerson, Kelli Vaughn, Kayla Hanley, Brittany Madden, and Destiny Matuska. Miss Rowland is preceded in death by two brothers: David Bryant and Willie Michael Rowland; her paternal grandparents: J.D. & Bertha Mae Rowland; and her maternal grandparents: George David & Ruby Faye Vaughn.

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home of her mother, Claudia Rowland, 25 Sunset Rd, Hartwell, GA.

Funeral services for Miss Kristal Rowland will be held Monday, October 23, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Randall Starrett and Bishop Scott King officiating.  Burial with military honors will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
