Mr. Louris Dudley "L.D." Bunch, age 75, of Lavonia, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at his home.
Born October 17, 1942, in Sunbury, NC, he was the son of the Ernest Fonza Bunch and Martha Elizabeth (Chappell) Bunch. He retired from Ford Motor Company as a Health and Safety Engineer. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Ernest Bunch, Jr., Phillip Bunch, and James Bunch; and sisters: Katherine Copeland and Elanor Modlin.
He is survived by his wife: Abbie (Hembree) Bunch; daughters & sons-in-law: Missy & Daniel Holmes, Mandy & Christopher Daep, and Marla & Tony Thomason; grandchildren: Ryan Holmes, Brandon Tarrant, Jason Holmes, Kelsie Tarrant, Dreyk Tarrant, Jacob Thomason, and Elijah Thomason; and brothers: Allen Bunch and Linwood Bunch.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce McGee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Poplar Springs Baptist Church "Hope for Lavonia".
