Mrs. La Rose Brown Medlin, age 79 of 1388 Elberton Highway, Hartwell, Ga., died Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Cobb Memorial Hospital.

Born April 24, 1928 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Clay L. Brown, Sr., and Azalee Brown Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church, Molly Brown Sunday School Class, Jean Jenkins UMW, Bio Homemakers Club and Hartwell First Baptist FCS and the UDC.

She is survived by: sons, Clay Medlin of Hartwell, Ga., Robert Medlin and his wife Peggy of Evans, Ga., and Ken Medlin and his wife Jane of Hoschton, Ga., daughters, Julianne Fleming and husband Glenn of Lavonia, Ga., Patsy Bartlett and husband Jeff of Hartwell, Ga., and Nancy Haley of Hartwell, Ga., brothers, Bonner Brown of Hartwell, Ga., and Jerrold Brown of Griffin, Ga., sister, Mary Elizabeth Poole of Hartwell, Ga. Nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis "Mutt" Medlin and brothers, C.L., Herman, Kendall and Berry Joe Brown.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bethesda United Methodist Church. Rev. Donald Hazelgrove and Rev. Doug Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday evening. The family will be at the home. Memorials may be made to the Bethesda UMC Building Fund, 352 Bethesda Church Road, Hartwell, Ga. 30643
