Mr. Elmo Lafayette McLeroy, 83, of Reed Creek Highway, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at his home.

Born on September 22, 1932 in Athens GA, he was the son of the late Callie Elmo "C.E." McLeroy and Verbie Shaw McLeroy. Mr. McLeroy was a retired farmer and attended the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and the Sardis Baptist Church, both in Hartwell.

Survivors include his daughter: Gina Temple and her husband Ronnie of Hartwell and four nieces and nephews: Kerry McKinnon of Athens, Karen Day & her husband Bill of Dallas TX, Kurt McKinnon & his wife Madelyn of New Port Richey FL and Verbie Erskine and her husband Allen of Crestview FL.Mr. McLeroy was preceded in death by his two sisters: Lucille Ballard and Jean McKinnon.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 25, 2106 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. John Silver and Rev. Jason Webb officiating.Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Memorial Park, Athens GA.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.The family is at the home.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Mt.
