Mr. Emmett Lake Hilley, 88, of McMullan Road, Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson, SC.

Born on October 8, 1929 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Ottis W. Hilley and Ella Gaines Hilley. Mr. Hilley was a retired maintenance tech from Owens Corning Fiberglass and a member of the Sardis Baptist Church. He also was US Army veteran.

He is survived by his son: Jeff Hilley and his wife Alison of Hartwell; one brother: Douglas Hilley (June) of Hartwell; three sisters: Geneva Beggs, of Canon, Shirley Pulliam of Royston and Glenda Ford of Walnut Grove.Mr. Hilley was preceded in death his parents; his wife: Patsy Skelton Hilley; and one brother: Richard Hilley.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. John Silver officiating.Burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning at the Sardis Baptist Church. The family is at the home of Jeff and Alison Hilley, 474 McMullan Road, Hartwell, GA.
