Edward Lamar Foster, age 75, of Lavonia, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born May 20, 1937, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Lester and Jewel (Stone) Foster. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was a member and former treasurer of the Lavonia Lions Club. Mr. Foster retired from Franklin Industries after 28 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Winfred Foster; and a sister: Bertha Mae Walters.
He is survived by his wife: Martha (Bartlett) Foster; son and daughter-in-law: Mike and Diane Foster; son: Mark Foster; brother: Jimmy R. Foster; grandchildren: Kevin Foster, Katie Foster, and Kody Foster; and great-grandchildren: Dason Foster, Kolton Foster, Rylan Miller, and Kolby Foster.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Nash, Rev. Kenneth Jones, Rev. Joe Renfro, and Rev. Benson Bottoms officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours, the family will be at the home of Mike & Diane Foster. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 250 Pleasant Grove Road, Lavonia, GA 30553.
