Mr. James Lamar Turner, 79, of Hart Terrace, Hartwell, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 in the Kindred Hospice Unit at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born on August 25, 1938 in Lincolnton GA, he was the son of the late James Anderson Turner and Willie Bell Turner.Mr. Turner was a retired mechanic for Boaz of Royston and a member of the Riverside Baptist Church of Royston.
Survivors include his wife; Connie Wooten Turner; his children: Ronnie Turner & his wife Kathy and Patsy Young & her husband Joel all of Elberton GA; Brandon Eaton & his wife Kisha and Amanda Rowland all of Hartwell GA; a sister: Brenda Danner-McGahee & her husband Mack of Lincolnton GA; three brothers: Douglas "Doug" Turner & his wife Connie of Augusta GA, Larry Turner & his wife Shirley of Abbeville SC and Vernon "Pete" Turner & his wife Pam of Lincolnton GA; Ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one of the way, Baby Abram.Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Wilks Anderson Turner.
Funeral services will be Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Kenny Davidson officiating.Burial will be in the Memorial Garden of Prayer.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening.The family is at the home.
