Obituary
Mr. Larry Ronald Austin, Sr., 63, of 1152 Bert Moorehead Road, Canon, died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at his home.
Born on March 21, 1948 in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Samuel Austin and Lois Larkin Austin. He was a retired mechanic and was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Austin of Canon; one daughter: Rhonda Austin York and her husband, Lee; two sons: Larry Ronald Austin, Jr. and Chris Austin and his wife, Denise; ten grandchildren: Jonathan Austin, Joseph Austin, Hayden Austin, Hudson Austin, Ashley Akers, Shelly Smith, Cody Austin, Drew Austin, Caroline Austin, and Ally Austin; and one great grandchild: Evalon Diane LaBarge. Mr. Austin was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be Friday, July 1, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Spurr officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
