Mr. Larry R. Cooper, age 68 of Dovetown Road, Cobb Place Apts., Royston, GA, died Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born April 29, 1940 in Amarillo, Texas, he was the son of the late Odell Cooper and Frankie Reeves Matthews. He was employed with Hart EMC for 25 years and was one of the first of nine EMT's for Hart County when it started in 1974.He was a member of Freedom of Worship Church and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving in the strategic air command.

Survivors include:Sons, Gary Cooper of Milford, MI and Russell Cooper of Hartwell, GA; Daughters, Teresa Jones of Hartwell, GA and Anita Cook of Hartwell, GA; Twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ramona Pruitt.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Rev. Ron Lawson and Rev. Judy Carruth will officiate. Entombment will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Saturday from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.The family will be at the home of Jim and Anita Cook, 1004 Bio Church Road, Hartwell.Flowers are optional; Memorials may be made to Hart County Humane Society, P.O.
