Larry Ellenburg

Larry Joseph Ellenburg, age 74, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Born October 21, 1951, in Rabun County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Roy Lee Ellenburg and Mary Ann Thompson Ellenburg. Larry attended college and was the owner and operator of Ellenburg Contracting prior to his retirement. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Larry enjoyed spending his time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also had a love for antique cars.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shelley Ellenburg Umbehant and Clint Umbehant; son, Casey Ellenburg; grandchildren, Courtney Williams (Eric), Kaeli Williams (Paul Castellano), Tristan Wood, and Tabitha Ellenburg (fiancé Cole Friend); great-grandchildren, Lakelyn Williams and Elliana Castellano; and sister, Becky Ellenburg Lovell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Ellenburg (Cheryl), and sister, Joan Ellenburg (Chip Saville).

In accordance with Larry’s final wishes, no services will be held. The family deeply appreciates the thoughts, prayers, and support of their family and friends during this time. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (St. Jude.org)
