Larry Edwin Floyd, Sr., age 75 of Lavonia, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at his home with his family at his side.
He was born November 8, 1945, in Bowersville, the son of the late Lonnie & Dorothy Sue Vaughn Floyd. After graduating from Lavonia High School, he attended the School of Drafting. Larry was a pillar of the Lavonia community and the owner of Morgan Hardware. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lavonia. Larry will be remembered as a loving husband, caring father, grandfather, & great-grandfather, and a friend to all.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Martha Chastain Floyd; children: Angela Lee & husband Paul Lee, Eddie Floyd & wife Rebecca Milford-Floyd, and Rebecca Bullock & husband Roger Bullock; grandchildren: Daniel Floyd & wife Brandy, Anna Roberts & husband Andrew, Hope Bullock, Gaines Bullock, Emily Bullock, Reagan Floyd, Eliza Kate Floyd, Perrin Floyd, Brandy Lee, and Bailey Lee; great-grandchildren: Alexis Roberts, Millie Ann Roberts, Hadley Floyd, MaKenna Floyd, and Mason Lee; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Jane Floyd Smith.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Bowersville Baptist Church with Rev. John Creason and Rev. Dr. Joe Renfro officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Bowersville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 26, Bowersville, GA 30516.
