Mr. Larry Gregory Harris, age 72, of Lavonia, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at The Veranda Personal Care Home in Carnesville.
Born January 4, 1946, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Henry and Marietta (Stovall) Harris. He was a graduate of Lavonia High School and a veteran of the Georgia National Guard. Mr. Harris owned and operated C & H Motors. He was a member of the Lavonia First Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife: Carolyn (Hill) Harris; sister: Violet Walters; and brothers: Rufus Harris and Bobby Lee Harris.
He is survived by his wife: Ann (Sheriff) Harris; daughter & son-in-law: Shawna & Jason Campbell; son & daughter-in-law: Joshua & Molly Harris; step-daughters & sons-in-law: Tracie & John Creason, Angie & Jason McCauley, and Cindy & Bruce Herring; sister: Gloria Whitfield; brothers: Harold Harris and Shuratt Harris; and grandchildren: Tyler Campbell, Gavin & Griffin Harris; Connie Crunkleton, Drake, B.J., & Caty McCauley, and Bryson, Corey, Abby, & Evan Herring.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Lavonia First Baptist Church Bridge Service Sanctuary with Dr. Larry Finger officiating. Entombment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North with John Creason officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
