Mr. Larry Gene Hill, Sr, 71, of Fred King Road, Hartwell, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Hospice Rainey House in Anderson, SC.

Born on December 3, 1942, in Hartwell, he was a son of the late Walter Hill and Beatrice Bailey Hill.He is retired from Orr Lyons Mill of Anderson, SC.He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: his wife: Ruth Ann Borders Hill; one daughter: Betty Allen and her husband Billy of Hartwell; two grandchildren: Heather Shields and her husband Chris of Canton, GA and Hannah Allen of Hartwell; two great grandchildren: Sophia Shields and Eden Shields; three brothers: William Hill of Hartwell, Ray Hill of Dewy Rose, Marvin Hill of Hartwell; two sisters: Marian Payne of Hartwell and Faye Page of Carnesville.He was preceded in death by his son: Larry Gene Hill Jr.and one brother: Ank Hill.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Edgar Boles and Rev. Tommy Cleveland officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.The family is at the home.
