Mr. James Larry Mason, 75, of Charlotte Lane, Bowersville, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at his home.

Born on September 8, 1940 in Kingston GA, he was the son of the late James Mason and Charlotte Tompkins Mason.Mr. Mason was formerly employed by Big Star and he was a retired Produce Manager for Cub Foods.He was a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class.Mr. Mason was a U. S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife: Sandra Fannin Mason; a son: John Mason of Lavonia; a daughter: Dorothy "Dee" Stephens and her husband Joe of Lilburn GA; a sister: Sandra Nell Mason of Decatur GA and three grandchildren: Logan Stephens, Sonya Mason and Josiah Mason and a half brother-in-law Bill Fannin.Mr. Mason was preceded in death by his parents and a son: James Glen Mason.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Flat Shoals Baptist Church with Dr. Wendell Bannister officiating.Burial will be in the Flat Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening.The family is at the home.
