Mr. Larry William Wilson, age 62, 1786 Mt. Olivet Rd., Hartwell, died Saturday, July 5 at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta GA.
Born on June 5, 1946 in Franklin Co. GA, he was the son of the late John "Bud" Wilson and Marquez Vickery Wilson.He was retired owner-operator of Lake Hartwell Axle Co., member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge # 690 and the Lake Hartwell Shrine Club.
Survivors include his wife: Mary Jean Wilson of the home: two daughters: Tina Simmons of Hartwell and Tonya Smith and her husband Daniel of Lavonia; two brothers: Kenneth Wilson and his wife Lill of Starr and Tommy Wilson and his wife Connie of Hartwell; two grandchildren: Paige Simmons and Anzley Jean "Paw Paw's Monkey" Smith also survive.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Black, Rev. Johnny Stowe, Rev. Scott Mize and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home – Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday night.The family is at the home.
