Obituary

Mrs. Launa Buffington Isbell, age 84, of Lavonia, died Monday, May 2, 2011 at Cobb Memorial Hospital.
Born August 18, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Robert & Mertie (Vickery) Buffington. She owned and operated the Tastee Freeze in Lavonia for 19 years. She was a homemaker and member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. Before joining Cross Roads, she was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church, where she taught the youth class and was a member of the Forever Young group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Wallace O'Neal Isbell.
She is survived by her daughter: Carolyn Archer of Canon; and son: Rondell Isbell of Lavonia.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ben Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the service hour. At other hours the family will be at their respective homes. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Cross Roads Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 3636 Lavonia Highway, Hartwell, GA 30643.
