Obituary
Mrs. Laura "Lolly" Righton, born October 22, 1923, passed away February 7, 2017 at the age of 93.
She is survived by her daughter: Laura Lee Crump and grandchildren Foxx (Roy) Crump, Dessie Mazhar, Charlie Crump and step-son, Harry Righton; also three great-grandchildren: Noah Mazhar, Alyssa Mazhar, and Evan Crump.She was preceded in death by her son: Ruste V. Righton and step-daughter: Jane Righton-Turner and brother: Charles Ruste.
She served in Women's Marine Corp from 1943 to 1945 and while serving she met and married Lt. Ralph V. Righton.After the war Mr. and Mrs. Righton settled in Stone Mountain, GA.After the death of her husband, Mrs. Righton relocated to Royston, GA to join her daughter, Laura Lee Crump and her husband Dr. Hoyt Crump and their children.The family attended First Presbyterian Church in Hartwell, GA.
Mrs. Righton will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor Mrs. Righton's memory may donate to the Disabled Veterans of America or Northeast GA Animal Shelter.These two organizations were very dear to Mrs. Righton's heart.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
