Mrs. Betty Laverne Gunn Linder, 96 of Hartwell, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Hart Care Center.

Born on January 7, 1929 in Monroe GA, she was the daughter of the late Ellar Gunn.  Mrs. Linder worked in the meat department at the Big Apple grocery store. She was a member of the Reed Creek Baptist Church and Hartwell VFW Post #8076 Auxiliary.

Survivors include one son: Charles Linder (Nancy) of Monroe GA; one daughter: Cherry Fowler of Memphis TN; one brother: Eugene Gunn; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Mrs., Linder was preceded in death by her husband: Ray M. Linder; one son: Bruce Linder; four brothers: J.D. Gunn, Ed Gunn, Charlie Gunn, Leonard Gunn; two sisters: Nell Bates and.Elizabeth Gunn.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.

Graveside services for Mrs. Laverne Linder will be Friday, April 4, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta with Rev. Keith Bates officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hartwell VFW Post 8086 Auxiliary, 173 Ack Powell Road, Hartwell, GA 30643.
