Mr. Oscar Lee Harris, Jr., age 61 of Canon, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center.
Born September 28, 1952, in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Carrie Lou (Perkins) Harris and the late Oscar Lee Harris, Sr. He was a veteran of the Georgia National Guard and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: Cindy (Maxwell) Harris of Canon; daughters: Christy Fleeman of Lavonia, Beth Harris of Lavonia, and Brittany Harris of Canon; grandchildren: Cody Fleeman and Landon McGee; sister: Janet Charles; brothers: Steven Harris, Mike Harris, and Keith Harris; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Childress officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home.
