Mr. Leland Eberhardt, 83, of 1665 Montevideo Rd., Elberton, Ga. died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson SC.
Born February 2, 1924 in Elbert County, GA, he was the son of the late Calvin Eberhardt and Betty Partain Eberhardt.He was retired from Hart E.M.C. after 40 years of service, where he was a Crew Foreman Supervisor.He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, Bible Study Class and United Methodist Men. He was also a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran serving aboard the LST 1071 Navy Ship.
His survivors include: Wife, Kathryn Mann Eberhardt; Son, Gerald Eberhardt and his wife Patricia of Hartwell; Grandson, Grant Eberhardt of Hartwell, GA;Brother, Homer Eberhardt of Hinesville, GA., and niece, Pat McCollum of Hartwell, Ga.He is preceded in death by parents and brothers, Thurman, Carl and Horace Eberhardt.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Rev. Dan Maxey, Rev. Dean Kring and Rev. John Silver will officiate. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The family will be at the home, 1665 Montevideo Road in Elberton.
